I'm looking for a wet dry vac that is going to work great and last for a lifetime. Ideally I would like to spend under $100 but if it's a little over, it's not a deal-breaker. I would love to hear experiences and especially would love to hear brands to stay away from. I haven't purchased a shopvac in years, and I'm seeing all these other brands at Home Depot and Lowe's with comfortable price tags, but I'm not sure about the quality. My gut tells me to go with more power lol, but I'm not sure that I need it.

My primary use will be fixing up a house. My wife and I are purchasing our first home, and it will be a little bit of a fixer upper. Not a full renovation or anything, but I will definitely be doing a little work on it. I also am a hobby woodworker so I shopvac will be a necessity.
