Located in canada bc. I have been at my job for 10 years as a cook. I started at 11 an hour when min wage was 8.50 an hour. Min wage is now 12.65 an hour and over 10 years I am only at 15.50 an hour.

I recently found out that 2 Co workers that have been there for 6 months are making more than myself.

I feel like I have been slapped in the face. My boss has stated that we will talk about a possible 1 dollar raise in September. However I am not sure as to do in my current situation.

I am looking for some guidance on what may be my options are.

I have made myself the most versatile employee there. I can do janitorial, waitressing, running food. I have also been pigeon holded into just one position in the kitchen. Running the center of the line, which consists of timing all bills, calling out orders, telling waitresses which tables to go, what plate to what seat. Making sure each plate goes out perfectly to my best ability.

My boss and coworkers say that I have to run the center because I am good at it, much better than they are. My boss refuses to allow me to do anything else on busy nights because he doesn't trust anyone else to do it right nor can anyone else handle the stress of it.

Now with that said. My boss has also thrown it in my face that I haven't gotten raises in the past because I started a family (I am female so that means mat leave etc)

However, I am unsure if that should warrant myself being paid less than anyone else in the kitchen for the same job if not more.

Please help give perspective and thoughts. I will try and answer any questions if I have missed anything. I am sorry for the overall text. I am upset to say the least.
