I generally don't use my dryer, I hang clothes. Sometimes my garments come out of the wash with white streaks on them. I use warm water most of the time, I use a bit less than the recommended amount of detergent (because my washer oversuds and the suds spill out of my drainpipe). I'm not sure what to do to eliminate this. It's most apparent on black clothing, which I wear a lot. I can for the most part dampen a washcloth or sponge and work at wiping the stuff off, but really who wants to do that. I'm guessing the stuff is bits of lint that a dryer would otherwise catch. I've tried some of those smiley faced sticky circles which are supposed to pick up link and fur from the washer, but they don't seem to do anything. I remember old top load washers had a sort of strainer at the top which water would filter through and it would catch and hold the lint. No such feature with newer devices, but that's what I need. Ideas?
