I'm building a floating shelf for my bedroom. The project plans call for mounting a 2x4 that has protruding lengths to the wall, and then sliding a box over that frame to create the shelf itself. See here for a walkthrough of the method. My challenge is that the shelf is 27" long, and the stud is exactly in the middle of the shelf length (so there's only one stud that I can drill into). I've used drywall anchors in the past for other projects, but I don't know how to use a drywall anchor when it would have to go through 1.5" of wood before getting to the wall. What's the easiest way for me to secure the far ends of the 2x4 frame to the drywall so that the shelf doesn't pivot? via /r/DIY http://bit.ly/2G5EjuU
