As many of you know, if you don't have tiny rims on your car (or truck in my case which would never have small tires), tire prices will generally run between $600-800 or more installed. I had a Slickdeals alert set since last December, and I nearly bit on $800 Michelin tires a while back because I knew they'd be better than anything else. I wasn't keen on paying $600 for okay tires. Luckily, I got an alert last week about some General Grabber STX tires (a rebrand of General HTS) on clearance at Walmart.
These would normally cost about $620 installed with tax. Got them at $35 each, and with the value installation that includes road hazard coverage, the total was $259 with tax. Now I can afford to not wait on getting coolant, and transmission fluid, and rear end lube changed which will inevitably save me money down the road as well.
