Hey guys. 2 jobs I'm debating on.
My current job (a union) 35.60 an hour
8 an hour pension (30 years max) and I have 35-40 years until retirement.
6 an hour (employer paid health care) in which covers my entire family with no cost to me.
5% wages deducted from check to union
More stressful and more physical work
Higher chance of market crashing and being laid off.
Can be put on any job over the entire metro area (20 min-2 hour drive)
Gov job (dont have all the details) 37.60 an hour
Match up to 5% retirement 401k
4.70 an hour to help pay for health care (have no idea how much it would cost for wife and 2 kids)
2 weeks PTO a year
Maybe paid holidays?
Probably way less stressful
Less probably of getting laid off when jobs end.
Same place everyday (20 mins from my house)
Whatcha think?
