So I've been trying to file my taxes and I've hit a bump in the road. I didn't have any insurance for four months (Jan-April) due to being unemployed. Everyone I call doesn't have any useful information. I tried filling out an exemption form through the marketplace but it just says that I can't apply for an exemption for previous years. I was gonna sit down with an H&R Block representative but they told me it would cost approximately $148 to file with them. My penalty is gonna end up being $268 if I don't get it waived somehow. Considering I'm paycheck to paycheck, I just can't swing that kind of penalty. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
