I bought a Kobalt battery powered lawn mower in Feb of 2015. FOUR years ago. That lawnmower comes with a FIVE YEAR hassle free warranty. That is key here. I went to fire up the ole lawnmower today (batteries fully charged) and it barely whimpered. Called the big box store that sells that brand specifically (and the one I purchased it at), was first told to call an 800 number. Yeah no. It’s Sunday. Then told I could bring it in and they’ll send it out. Again, no. I need to work on the yard today. Politely asked for the manager who quickly agreed I could bring it back into the store for a swap out.
Now I should add, on the app under my account I had proof of purchase. That’s important. Get to the store, of course the model I purchased was discontinued. They were able to figure something out. Didn’t cause a scene or anything. I shop there often. I walked out with a better model, new one has push assist, and a store credit cuz they’ve come down in price significantly.
TL:DR Store offered 5 year hassle free warranty. I held them to it. Walked out with brand new lawnmower to replace my dead one & credit for the price difference.
