Browsing this sub gave me the idea to turn a 3'x3' table into a giant chessboard, (full album will come when I'm finished, I promise!). Last night I stained the darker squares and am planning on staining the remaining squares in a lighter shade tonight, but I had a thought. For context, here's where I am now:http://bit.ly/2UmJnDQ the remaining squares, I figured it'd be easiest to stain the whole table, since the darker will show through. My last minute thought was that getting it wet again might cause the dark squares to bleed and ruin the sharp edges I taped so hard to get. It's hard to Google since it's such a specific question in a sea of common keywords, so I figured I'd ask the experts here. Can I stain the whole table in a thin, lighter shade, or should I take the time to tape up the borders again? The replies to this post seem to indicate I messed up by staining the darker shade first, so if that's the case, what should be my next move? Thanks! via /r/DIY http://bit.ly/2Uqne7L
