My wife and I started eating no preservatives, no added sugar and no/little gluten as a Lenten challenge.
We figured we would spend more money on higher end products but really we have lost weight thanks to being healthier and saved over $1000 in the last month.
It's much harder to eat out so we are out on the town a lot less often which has also helped us realize how much we spend on impulse buys.
Also it has freed up time to repair things around the house that were broken instead of indulging on the convenience of buying a new item when we go out to eat.
Tldr; In all we have lost a collective 30 lbs and saved over $1000 buy eating lost of bean based foods.
