Not sure if this is the correct r/ to post this, but it's the best I found. Please direct me to a better one if it's wrong here.

I just came across a comment thread on r/talesfromtechsupport where female engineers were annoyed that so many trousers made to fit them have either only uselessly tiny pockets (too tiny to fit even their keys), or only the seam of where a pocket would be, or not even a hint of a pocket. Meanwhile, most trousers made for males have at a minimum two pockets big enough to fit a cellphone or wallet.

This brought me to the idea that if there was a business that specialized in adding pockets to clothing (in a way that looks professional and like they might have been there from the beginning), said business would probably do quite well for itself. Especially if it was called something like "GiveMePockets", did a lot of its business online (customers would send in the offending clothing and get it sent back with the desired pockets) and directed part of its marketing towards the tech/engineering/mechanics sectors.

Personally, I have no use for this idea, as I have no desire to start or otherwise co-own a business, no money to do it with, and live on the wrong continent anyways. So the next best thing is to at least see something like that pop up in the next decade and hopefully see it be successful (because I doubt clothing manufacturers would stop making pocketless trousers; and even if they did, people would still want additional or bigger pockets on their clothing).

If someone thinks they can implement something like this properly, they're free to it. I'd rather see it appear and work, even without credit, than have it ignored because someone who could have done it didn't want to risk getting sued for "intellectual property theft".
