I had a friend post to Facebook about saving $1000 a year from the age of 25-34 at an 8% interest gain over that time and getting $157K by age 65 versus starting $1000 a month investing at 8% interest at the age of 35 and only having $122K by 65. I don’t know of anyone maintaining that type of interest over that many years so it doesn’t make sense to me at all. Why wouldn’t all of Wall Street just invest in that matter instead of the 3-4% that they get on average.
