As a 26 year old single guy with no kids I’ve finally learned that the system is rigged. I can play any part I like but there are sacrifices at every corner.
I can work a low stress, low pay salary job and earn minimum wage and enjoy what I have (simple living).
I can earn good money working in a salary job but sacrifice a lot of my time and not get to enjoy most of what I earn until later in life.
I can work for myself, at low risk of failure but with long hours and paying a fairly high amount of taxes.
Or I can try the impossible and earn a lot of money working for myself, with high risk of failure and long hours with very high taxes. If I get lucky, I might be able to “buy” some freedom in all of this, maybe take a few years off.
My question is, how do you/did you decide to settle in amongst all this, and do you not worry the other options may be better?
I guess its just weighing up pro’s/con’s, and what you want in life, but I can’t decide whats too high, or whats too simple.
