I really need some help in figuring out first of all whether it's even do-able. I am trying to leave an situation. I make about 380 a week. Where I live all the apartments pretty much start at 500/mo.
I don't have a driver's license or car but I have planned to walk to the pawn shop and buy a bike for about 15 dollars.
I will be getting about 1000 dollar tax refund some time in the future. I have to wait until he files (we don't file jointly but he will be pissed if I don't wait) and he hasn't filed yet.
So I figure my whole tax refund will go to the deposit and first months rent of apartment. Utilities are about 100 a month if I move into an apartment and only have to pay electric (most of them are like that around here).
I know they always say that you should only spend 1/4 of your income on rent and a lot of apartments won't take you unless you can verify enough income. I only make a little less than 1600 a month so I am worried no one will take me. Even though I am committed to paying whatever rent just to get out of this situation.
Is there any way, with my current income it is even possible for me to do this on my own? I am very isolated and have no one to be a room mate or anything like that.
