This is for my parents but they don’t know how to use the internet etc. Essentially my parents filled for the 2017 tax year with Jackson Hewitt and got $500 back. This week they got a letter from the IRS saying they owe $7k for that year. They have spoken to the person who did their taxes and essentially she said that they do owe (so I’m assuming she messed up). My parents have since separated and the letter was sent to my mother but I’m assuming that it’s directed to the both of them, but my mother has no way to pay that off. Are there any ways she could get help for this?
