I just moved into an apartment last month and received my first electric bill and it says I used 1147kWh in just 27 days?!
I am so confused, I have been living in multiple apartments over 6 years (alone and with up to 2 roommates) and never had used this much in one month. The apartment is all electric but so has almost every other I have lived in, and this isn't even the biggest apartment I have had. I am also on the second floor so usually that helps but guess not.
I turn turn down the heater to 60F when I am at work for 9 hours a day, and then turn it to only 70-75F when I am home (about 4 hours) - but back down to 65F when I sleep (about 8 hours).
I currently live alone and all I have is a TV, Nintendo Switch, and Computer.
The only appliances are a Fridge, stove (rarely use it), microwave, electric water heater, and washer and dryer (I use only once a week).
Any ideas where this cost is coming from? Is it just the heater? My thermostat wont let me lower the heat below 60F so I cant lower that while I am at work.
Any input would be helpful.
