I'm building a custom mount for my TV. Is there any reason for me not to just screw a block of wood to the back of the TV? I know tv mounts are usually metal but I don't see why I couldn't do this unless it was some kind of fire hazard. The wood is only the size of the mounting area. It does not encompass the entire back of the TV. And the wood is not the only support. It's still going to be on it's stand. I just want extra stability. via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2WybkFh
