For someone just starting out and considering buying a house, we're not looking for our forever home, since currently it's highly unlikely we can afford something big enough in a nice neighborhood to house ourselves, pets, and future children, but we're unsure if rent to own or just going up and trying a buy a starter house is the way to go... we don't want to deal with an apartment, as everyone we've spoken to says that's not the way to go, but the conflicting advice on rent to own vs mortgage is confusing...
