Thie might seem like a weird question at least compared to everything else I've seen posted here. As the title says, I have no plans on ever owning a home. My reasons for this decision are as follows:
- I don't want to have to worry about selling the house if I decide to move.
- I'm not interested nor willing in putting a major amount of work into a house.
- I'm not willing to take a chance that I will end up selling the house for less than I bought it.
- I don't want to go into more debt than I already have because of college.
- I don't think I'll ever be able to afford a home.
The last two points are my biggest reasons. I've given up hope that I will ever be able to even afford on in the first place. I don't make a lot of money where I live now & I highly doubt I will be making much more a decade from now.
I've heard some people say never buying a home is a terrible decision to make, but I have a hard time understanding why that is. So how will my decision not to buy a home affect me both positively & negatively?
