I put my boots in the washing machine while trying to clean cat urine out of them... But after drying them they had lost a lot of their colour and texture. Before washing they had a mild glossy feel, and now they have no gloss, and have lost colour as well as looking quite patchy as the colour faded differently in different areas...
I guess polishing is the way to go, but am worried they might come out looking fake, or too shiny, also I don't want to spend much money on brushes or equipment, so would an old rag along with some reasonably cheap brown shoe polish work? Or is there any other way to restore them?
Can anyone give me some tips, or warn me how not to make things even worse than I already have...
This is a similar model to what I have:
