Hello,For a project I'm working on, I have to cut 30 mm pieces of steel "rod" / wire (1 mm or so diameter) many times in a row, and with accuracy. I have a nerve problem in my hands which makes repeated fine work a bit problematic if it's a bad day.I have a pair of basic wire cutters and a simple jig of hardwood drilled to depth of 30 mm (minus the extra mm or two that gets added by the cutters not cutting flush). This works, but sometimes the force from the cutting, which shoots the non-inserted piece of rod off strongly in the other direction - and presumably the inserted piece of rod down into the wood drill hole jig. This seems to bore out the hole over repeated cuts and results in a lot of marginally off lengths which are then hard to recut.I searched for an automatic / automated jewelry cutter with a ruler, or something else along those lines, but found nothing that worked.Does anyone have any suggestions to reliably perform this task? Thanks! via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2CwSua1
