I just turned 62 and collected my first SS check. I have done some pretty diverse things in my life including spending 6 months on the road, living in a converted utility trailer. When I was young lived in a horse stall for a while. I've lived in a tent in the Amazon....My next plan is to find a remote cabin or small house to rent hopefully to live out the balance of my life in obscurity. In my travels I liked New Mexico and Tennessee, but am open to other areas outside of the heavy snow states. I'm in Massachusetts now and had enough of that. I've found a few rentals on CL, but it's pretty hit and miss going through thousands of listings all over the country. What do you think would be a more efficient way of finding a place to rent? I thought about composing a 'wanted' ad and finding places to post it online, but where? Is there a website or forum or sub that would get the best visibility?
