Hi all, I had a driver slam into the back of me on the way into work this morning and he drove off. It didn't look like much damage at first but I still called the police. They gave me a brochure with a case number and told me there wasn't much they could do if I couldn't identify the driver (which I couldn't because they drove away). I will check my camera footage when I get home to see if I can see anything about his car.
Anyway, I was wondering if I should even use my insurance for this. When I started driving into work again, my bumper fell off on 1 side and scraped along the ground, so I took it off completely and put it in the back seat. Anyone that has ever had this kind of damage repaired know how much it would cost? Would my rates increase if I claimed this? My first accident ever so any advice is appreciated!
