I started my taxes today and I thought I had the correct health form, 1095a, but it turns out I don't. I received my healthcare from the marketplace and when I called to get my form apparently they don't have it either. So they are going to look for it but it can take up to 45 days, maybe even more, which doesn't help me because taxes are due in 15 days. I asked what I am supposed to do about my taxes and he said not to file until I get my 1095a because if I do I'll have to amend (I've never had to do that, do you have to pay to amend?). The IRS is closed today so I'll have to call tomorrow but I'm worried I'll get penalized if I don't get my form before April 15th. I don't think I should because this isn't my fault but who knows? Help please!
