My yard has a gentle slope so for the past two years, my child has been bouncing on her trampoline on an angle. It's been quite amusing to watch her just keep bouncing down the slope and eventually in to the safety net at the lower end, but now she is starting to get some skill and learn some tricks. It will soon become dangerous and an impediment to her improvement.Over the last few weeks, I have been excavating a level piece of ground for the trampoline to move to. At the shallow end, I have dug down about 150mm, at the deep end, I have dug down about 450mm. I've built a retaining wall on the high side and installed garden edging on the low side and put down a weed mat over the whole area. Now my question:What should I put down to give the feet something level and secure to stand on? I intend to stick a single paver under each to spread the load, but I don't think that is enough. I was going to put a ring of road base around the edge of the pit, place the pavers on this and then the tramp on the pavers - but is that overkill? I'm just going to fill the area with river rock in the centre. Is paver direct on to dirt enough? Should I put down some sand, then paver over that? Is road base the best thing to do?Thanks. via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2VyI4h3
