I am renovating a guest bathroom and I am not sure where to stop the cement board and begin the drywall for the tub surround.Previous installation was 1/2" greenboard with tiles attached using presumably mastic. You can see in the picture I have removed the portion of greenboard where the old tiles were. The plan is a 4 x 12 subway pattern with 3 1/2" bull nose running vertically to cap it off. Ideally, I suppose, cement board would be underneath 100% of the tile, but that would mean the cement board would meet the drywall with no supporting stud behind. (Unless of course I add something - Thats a challenge given what's in that wall)Im sort of leaning toward running drywall to the right most stud pictured and then continue with cement board from there. That means the bull nose would be sitting on drywall and im not sure if that's generally frowned on or not and how thinset generally takes to drywall. Curious what the pros would do here? Thanks.http://bit.ly/2IdMo3w via /r/DIY http://bit.ly/2GMYVbO
