I (24/F) just got my first tv writing job (non union, mostly web content). No more restaurant work for me (hopefully)! But with the pay increase, I’m not sure if I should focus on my student debt (around 60k) or if I should build a nice cushion in my savings since writing jobs are so unpredictable.
A little about my job: My contract is for 9 months and then there is a 3 month unpaid hiatus. After that they have the option to bring me back for another 9 months and so on.
Any and all advice is helpful!!
