I dug myself in a deep hole, and I hadn't realized how deep I was in - until the sheriffs department showed up at my workplace. I have seen how helpful this community can be, and hoping y'all can point me in the right direction.

My info: 25 years old. Associates degree in business. Credit score as of 1/31: 589. Income: 1500/month

When I first was able to, I opened credit cards not knowing the repercussions of not paying them off. I always told myself that I would get back to it, or I'd address it later on. Well, later on has arrived and here's what it looks like (using CreditKarma to get these figures):

Active Accounts (3): Capital One Bank - $1,578 Federal Student Loans - $10,639 (went to go get my bachelors, dropped out because I couldn't afford it, and owe $ to bursars office) Citicards - $0

Closed Accounts (11): Capital One Bank - $3,821 Discover - $2,858 Bank of America - $2,292 Chase - $2,188 Nordstrom - $492 Macy's - $0 Citi - $0 Target - $0 TJMaxx - $0 Kohls - $0 Amex - $0

Collections (2): $8,753 $2,546

Today, 1/31/19, the sheriffs department showed up at my work to deliver papers to start garnishing my wages. The suit was coming from Citibank through Calvary Portfolio Services.

I honestly don't know what to do, what steps I should take. I've been reading through this forum, but with some of my collections already going through the courts I don't know if I'm too late to take some of the action that I have seen done in other posts.

My goal is to raise my credit score and clear my name of debt. I have about $4500 saved up, and don't know where to begin to allocate it.

I would appreciate any and all advice that y'all can provide. I know I made mistakes in getting to this point, but I'm trying to turn a page and move forward. I am determined. Any other information y'all need, please let me know!
