Hello all! First time posting here, 23y/o
I am currently in the Military, looking to come out. I currently earn about £1600/m I currently only have about £2000 saved. No debt, My expenses are as followed: Phone: £60/m Laptop: £50/m Rent: £70/m (accommodation) Netflix: £15/m Groceries: £200/m
Also looking into getting my first car, however I will be deployed over seas for 6 months and should be able to save a minimum of £6000. My girlfriend lives in Germany, however in 2020 will be moving to England for 2 months for work experience, we want to get an apartment together for this time, i imagine i’ll have to live in an apartment for a minimum of 6 months.
Like I said, I am looking to leave the Military and unsure what field to go into afterwards, When I decide to leave I’ll be eligible to leave 1 year after putting my leaving documents through. I guess I am asking for advice on how I could save further, any advice for renting or if i’d be eligible to buy a home, if so, if there is any help for first time buyers. I only started saving in December, and this sub has helped a lot! I roughly save about £500/m currently.
Any advice/ recommendations would be great!
