Hi, As a part of simplifying my life I've been contemplating cravings and how much they effect ones life. Even though I understand living without cravings is humanly impossible, I'm thinking that the less you give in to cravings - the less addiction one have - the less money you spend (as well as time and effort acquiring the things), which really could help simplifying. Has anyone actively worked on removing cravings or addictions (addictions in this context is more on the level of stuff like caffeine or tobacco, rather than heavier stuff like alcohol or drugs). I guess you could call it vices more than addictions.
My vices/addictions, that if I hadn't would make life simpler and less expensive, are mainly coffee, tobacco, soft drinks and sugar. I would love to quit all these to be able to save more money, get healthier and eliminate the stress of having to buy the stuff, freak out if I don't have it at home, tobacco on me wherever I go etc..
I obviously know how to get rid of these vices in theory but hearing from someone that is living a life with minimal vices would be a nice motivation. Also, do you think it is possible to minimize the number of cravings to a zero? I would love to get to (or close to) a situation where I'm perfectly fine just drinking water, eating whatever food is in front of me, no need for sweets or anything. Leaving the house without obsessing over bringing tobacco, carrying around tobacco, constantly buying tobacco..
Have a good evening!
