Pulling up carpet in my grandmothers house that had been down for a LONG time... like mid 1900s. The padding under the carpet is a thin material and what seems to be charcoal pellets under it. Any ideas or has anyone seen this before? via /r/DIY http://bit.ly/2GMuTVN
