Hey (not sure if this is the right sub) I am 19 years old and am going to college, so I live on my own. My parents still pay my health insurance and medical bills. Does this mean they can see my bills/ doctor referrals/ treatments? I assume the bills will say what im treated for.
The reason for asking is that I want to go to a psychologist soon. I don't want my parents to know why and what my problem is. I am somehow scared that they can read the referral letter or treatment plan (the thing therapists make that describes the intake conversation and all the test scores and problems) and that they will see the name of the psychologists office on the bills or something.
To what extent can they see details of my treatment?
