Hi - we're going to open a taxable account with Vanguard, and I'm needing some advice about which funds might be best for our taxable account. We were going to go with VFIAX or some of the super low expense ratio funds, but the more I read, the more I think that I might need one of these "tax managed" funds (like Vanguard Total Stock Market Index, or Vanguard Tax-Managed Balanced Fund). We are brand new investors, so any advice is appreciated.

Oh, and if you have any opinion about the wisdom of opening this account too, I'm all ears. I figure this cash isn't doing us any good just sitting here, and even if we are taxed at 15% on our gains, it's better than keeping the cash in even HYSAs.

[We're fully maxed on all 401ks, IRAs, HSAs and have plenty of emergency cash in HYSAs.]
