So I currently have a credit card used up at about 40% I want to transfer the balance to a different credit card to level out the credit usage and get it below 30% usage so it doesnt affect my credit score.. SO i applied for a credit card with good balance transfer specs. Thing is they only gave me $1000 credit limit. My question is... are the balance transfer and credit limit two different things? like If I transfer over $1000 of my debt from my other credit card would this in turn max out my new credit card. or is a balance transfer different? It seems kind of counter productive if they would let you transfer over the maximum balance in turn damaging your credit .
Just a little confused how it all works.
