http://bit.ly/2DyikeP want to lay LVP flooring in this room in our basement. It previously had carpet. The prior owners had pets and we think their pets used the room as a bathroom for some time. There was a really odd smell coming from the room. Since we removed all of the carpet and removed the adhesive the smell has gotten much better, and is barely noticeable. We are concerned that the smell is in the concrete floor. However, I don't know if we personally have time to sand the concrete floor completely and seal and refinish it. We could try to hire someone to do this but we really wanted the room usable in the next 2 weeks and we still need to lay vinyl flooring and do trim still. We also were considering just laying the vinyl plank flooring with a vapor barrier and just leaving the concrete floor as it is. There's no signs of moisture in the concrete in the room. We haven't looked behind the walls along the foundation, but it's mostly because we just want to be able to use this room asap.Is it ok to leave the floor as it is, if we are just going to cover it again with LVP? We were told the smell might never go away but it is so much better right now, it's at least a huge improvement. Thanks in advance. via /r/DIY http://bit.ly/2TgVJbO
