Maybe this is just personal bad luck, but I've owned 3 pairs of Bose headphones now. (QC35's, QC30's, and Soundsport), and all of them have either failed after a year (the QC35's left cup stopped working), or have so viciously degraded that the circuit boards underneath are visible (QC30's rubber outer shell has fallen off). My Soundsport's have had the shirt clip fall off constantly (which I've since lost because of this), but they at least still work, for what it's worth.

All in all, stay away from Bose headphones if you want something that'll last a long time. I'd personally look into Audiotechnica, or maybe even Sony if you want noise cancelling.
