For 2019, if I want the government to take less out of my paycheck, to have less of a refund next year, do I decrease or increase my withholdings?
Also, my company is using a different payroll website. On it, they say that they have no w-4 for me, but they must because they’ve witheld $79 so far in 2019. If I want to change my withholdings, I can’t see the previous year so I’m going to have to guess. And on that note...
...Withholding calculators. Is there a better one I can use than the one at IRS.gov? That one told me that my expected taxes for 2019 was $0 and that I’d be overpaying by $1698. That doesn’t sound right. Then the site crashed when I tried to do it again. Any advice?
