When I had a discussion with him how it would not behoove me to go 1099 without bumping pay commensurate with additional costs, he got very angry. Would not bump my pay (since he is setting pay rate I understand this makes me definitively not an IC). I am saying that I am sick now and unable to work today. He said I need a doctors note ( we have no employee handbook or policy in place for such a situation).
He is firing me. He is now asking for a copy of my drivers license. Any idea why he would need my drivers license?
I understand this is probably not the correct sub for this so my apologies, and thank you all in advance for your help.
