This is just a question about the wage laws in Massachusetts I work for a big hotel chain and get paid for $11 an hour I worked New Year’s Eve through New Years under the promise of New Years being time and a half $16.50 until midnight and $18 an hour after because minimum wage increased to $12 at midnight. Well long story short I got paid $70 for work the I would’ve gotten paid $150 for under the wages of time and a half. I got paid the flat 11 for the whole night.I am just wondering if business are required to pay the 1.5x rate and if business are required to pay the $12 the minimum wage that was made January 1st or is there a grace period for that type of thing. My manager is dodging questions about it from everyone and I just want to know if they’re allowed to do this. I know the $100~ isn’t a lot but I have gotten no hours and need to pay bills.
