There have been many different budgeting apps discussed on this subreddit, but I came across a new budgeting app that takes a little different approach to budgeting. The app, Save 1st, is focused on active budgeting and goal setting at a more granular level. This app works by having you enter your monthly income, then set a monthly savings goal. The app then shows you how much you have left to spend across all of your expense categories (income - savings goal). Save 1st, spend 2nd. Additionally, the app doesn't link to any other accounts, so it forces you to actively be involved with your spending so you always know how much you have left to spend for the month. On their website, save1st.com, they go into more detail on its FAQ page about active vs. passive budgeting. The user interface is also much simpler than other apps, making it easier to focus on budgeting instead of getting bogged down by unnecessary features.
