My family and I always do no spend January. We still pay our mortgage and but groceries, but that's about it. It does a couple things. It teaches us to enjoy what we already have, the kids just got a bunch of Christmas stuff. And it shows us at the end of January how little we miss the other stuff. Eating out, buying coffee, that kind of thing. Plus it allows us to save for the more important things
