I'm making some changes for 2019, in an effort to save money on a $25k Net Budget. I'm a single parent, with a teenager, who I take care of on my own.

  1. I plan on paying off credit cards with tax return, to save $90 a month in payments
  2. My grocery budget has been $30 a week for 2 people, since last year
  3. Thermostat was set at 72*, but my bill is still over $100. What degree should I set it at, to get it to $75-80?
  4. I'm going to TRY to NOT buy fast food. On average I spend $200 a month on Dining/Fast food. Mostly when I'm at work.
  5. This week I'm going to start Meal Prepping for 5 days a week, with a max budget of $10 a week. ($40 a month). That'll save me $160 a month.
  6. I don't buy clothes or personal items until I need them or I'm out of something
  7. I have Xfinity Mobile and for two people it's $95 a month with tax ( includes two lines(no line fee on 2nd line), two phones, 1 unlimited, 1 wifi only)
  8. I have Xfinity Internet and it's $66 a month(special 1 year pricing)
  9. My teenager eats breakfast and lunch at school through reduced prices, on average costing $10 a month

So, I can save $250 a month by paying off CCs to a zero balance and meal prepping every week. I'm trying to think of other ways(aside from the power bill), that I can save money with, but can't think of anything. Maybe you guys can help me think more creatively??
