My (29M) husband was just admitted to a psychiatric ward the second time in the last few months. We had already burned through our emergency savings the last time he was admitted, as he was out of work for at least two months. This time, he quit his job on the way in.
We both have student loans, and although I make pretty good money, I don’t make enough for both of us. Plus, we live in a high COL area and our lease isn’t up until November.
Are there any government assistance programs that could help us out? I know he qualifies for deferment, but I’m not sure if he’ll ever be able to work in the same capacity again.
