Was supposed to be financial relief final hearing today. But judge decided there was too many issues and not enough time.
As a result of today, I have to state with evidence the financial contribution I made to the family assets (2 houses) whilst being a stay at home parent. I've given details of what I gave up (career/pension etc) but I now have to evidence it. How can I provide evidence of something that didn't happen?
Are there other aspects I should consider?
Edit: I posted this below but thought it might be useful here too
OK so multiple this by 6 as we have six children together. I paid childcare for when I was working as a college lecturer and when I helped him set up his business.
It was doing well with my input but has since failed. This isn't to brag by any means, it just means that I promoted the business for a lot less than he would have paid a company to do - created website, designed adverts for newspapers, priced up jobs and dealt with customers so he could get on with work, held the fort while he 'ran errands' - let's tenuously call this networking. I also started off doing all the accounts day to day, submitted paye and VAT returns. When the business took off (after 18mths or so) I insisted he pay an accountant as it was beyond my pay grade - see next paragraph!
I didn't take a full wage (or rather he didn't pay me - he took my less than minimum wage earnings and said they were being used to pay the mortgages).
We often (every year for 5 yrs) incurred an overpayment in tax credits as a result of him not paying us (him and me) correctly then having the accountant figure out he'd taken more than he'd originally thought. These overpayments were paid by me.
He essentially used my tax allowance to reduce his company's tax liability. This meant I couldn't go to work elsewhere without being taxed heavily making it pointless (I'd be paying to go to work). Add in his long hours at work (sometimes reasonable/sometimes not) and I'd be left to look after the children 24/7.
I paid all household bills except mortgages and I think 1 of the utility bills but we separated 3 years ago and I honestly can't remember.
