The job I currently work is usually short staffed year round. There's always overtime available, but I don't really like to take on much since I have a newborn.
I have a car payment, of $360 monthly. I needed a reliable car because my job is so far away. About a 40 minute drive each way.
We live in an old house, but don't pay rent. Literally only bills are car payment, utilities and food/gas.
I've been looking into EveryDollar, and also considering getting a savings account. Because of poor budgeting we are living paycheck to paycheck and It's getting frustrating and stressful.
I make just over $15 hourly, and get benefits/retirement. After taxes, without overtime, I pull in approximately $2,000 per month.(after money put into retirement as well)
I heard about an organization that provides assistance for down payments on houses including closing costs and will look into it. Not sure if I should move closer to work, or improve upon what we have.
The mobile home we live in is pretty old and falling apart, and doesnt even have insulation. I've been considering laying down some concrete, and getting a newer mobile home delivered/built on the concrete so it holds better. We're not looking for anything expensive, just roomy and fair.
