My family eats a decent amount of bacon, so I am always on the hunt for a good price per pound. I had picked up a 12 oz pack of Manda center-cut bacon at the grocery store which ran about $2.60. I thought that was a good deal. Then I saw a 10-lb. box of "irregular" bacon in the frozen section for $16.99. I figured even if it was the odd-shaped "ends and pieces" I've tried before, $1.70/lb. was still a good price. It had a sell-by date of April 20-something. I got the box home and looked inside - the bacon actually seemed to be cut into pretty regular slices. Can't beat that price on bacon - if it tastes good we will be getting the 10-lb. box from now on!
Here is a picture of what the bacon looked like.
