For context: I (26F) make 46k pre-tax at my full-time job and waitress on the side for $1,000+ post-tax per month.
I've reached a point where something has to give. I've been feeling super down (I work two jobs, I HATE my full-time job, I have really bad lower back pain, I feel stressed, I'm out of shape, etc.). Working out used to bring me great joy and then I quit running in college and never got back into it.
There is a gym I've been considering for awhile located in a MCOL city. I had a conversation with the owner/trainer and it went super well. Really appreciated the questions he asked, how intentional it sounded, etc. The almost deal breaker: It's going to cost around $220 a month without personal training. I'm sure they'll break the cost of that to me when I do my initial assessment.
For those of you who indulge in gym memberships, how do you justify/rationalize it? I feel like I've been going so hard in the personal finance paint recently (paid off my car, currently contributing 1k a month to student loans) that even considering spending that much on a gym membership literally gives me anxiety.
