I need to send a cp2000 response form to the IRS due Feb 6th. (TLDR: they misread a 1099 payment that was for $500.00 and instead think it was for $50000 and want $20000 of taxes from me now. )
I would normally send this via certified mail but I'm not sure they will have someone there to sign for it due to the shutdown. Should I just send it via registered mail instead?
