Hello friends. I have some IRA accounts, 529 accounts, 401k accounts for me and wife and kids.

I am finding it increasingly difficult to manage these and make sure I am making wise investments.

Typically, I go for index funds and and stick to a mix of 3-4 different funds.

But I feel like I'm leaving money on the table, and I should hire a pro to advice me and give manage my money - I assume they would manage my IRA accounts and the others just advise on picks to make for the 529, 401k.

Where do I begin to find a pro? I don't want to go to Chase (my bank) - I feel they are more salespeople then there to really help me. What questions do I ask? Can I ask to see his/her track record? What are normal fees to expect to pay? Do they typically do better than just picking a good index or mutual fund?
