Of course it depends on what ingredients you use and where you shop, but I though I’d share my recipe for homemade dog treats
1/3 c canned pumpkin - $0.26
1/4 c peanut putter (I make mine homemade) - $0.20
1/4 cup egg whites or one egg - $0.17
2 cups flour of your choice (my dogs are sensitive to gluten so I use oat flour) $0.37
Mix wet ingredients together until well combined. Slowly add flour until mixture sticks together. You may need more or less depending on the type of flour you use. Shape into whatever shapes you want and bake at 350F until crispy (will vary depending on the size you choose). I form small one centimeter sized balls and bake, but you could use cookie cutters, etc. I end up with more than 3 cups worth of treats.
We are training our puppy right now, so we go through a lot of treats, and these last me for 1-2 weeks. Much cheaper and healthier than store bought treats, and my dogs can’t get enough of them!
